Signature Series: La Esperanza – Mokka Pequeno

It is with great pride that we announce Bridgeport Coffee’s new Signature Series of ultrapremium coffees.

La Esperanza – Mokka Pequeno is the first of our extremely rare, incredibly superb microlot coffees. It is grown by Don Miguel at one of the most progressive, quality focused coffee farm operations in the world — La Esperanza in Colombia. (Click the link — it’s an exceptional farm. See the video on the “About Us” page.)

This coffee is extremely rare. The bean is very small, but packs a wallop in the mouth feel. Deep and lush, balanced acidity (orange?) Sweet grapefruit, chocolate, nutmeg.

Mokka Pequeno must be ordered in advance. Because of its rarity, each small batch is roasted to order and available when it is ready. Please pre-order through the shop at 31st and Morgan, or message us on facebook.

For this truly exceptional coffee experience, the cost is $35 per 12oz bag, and we strongly recommend that you consume Mokka Pequeno within 10 days of purchase. We will call you when your order is ready.

The cultivar, mokka, has been primarily grown commercially only on the island of Maui. All the mokka trees on Maui came from one tree at the CTAHR research station in Kainaliu on the big island of Hawaii. The original tree came from Brazil in the 1950’s or 1960’s. Now grown on a 10 hectare plot of land on the farm Palestina at 1450 meters by hand, fully washed, sun dried.
