Bridgeport Coffee Hyde Park Art Center
A Latin-proud Chicago native with a healthy obsession for green tea, Christopher joined the Bridgeport Coffee family in 2016. After showing talents in various alternative coffee-making techniques, he quickly rose ranks to become one of our top baristas. His specialties include Russian Raf Coffee, Cuban Cafecito, and Traditional Italian Cappuccinos. Christopher enjoys experimenting with new ways to perfect his drinks. Outside the coffee shop, Chris enjoys cooking Peruvian food and camping with his younger sister.
Jesús was born and raised on his father’s coffee farm in Utuado, Puerto Rico. He has been working in the coffee industry ever since. Coffee is part of every aspect of his life, as he maintains a SCAA Barista Level 1 Certification. He runs the wholesale operations, and manages the roasting production and training for Bridgeport Coffee.
Design & Illustration
Laura is responsible for the new look of Bridgeport Coffee packaging, as well as signage at our newest location at Jackson & Michigan in the Loop. Laura is originally from Wisconsin, but has called Chicago home for more than a decade. She is passionate about designing, especially for the coffee and food industry, and is best known for her hand lettering and whimsical illustrations. Bridgeport Coffee Morgan Street
Born and raised in Urbana, IL, Maggie originally came to Chicago way back in 2006 to study massage therapy. She got her first barista job in college and has been hooked ever since. She loves helping people find the perfect coffee to match their needs. When she’s not making caffeinated magic, Maggie is a published poet, avid runner, and photographer.
President and Founder
Mike founded Bridgeport Coffee Company in 2004 after a long history in the Chicago restaurant industry. He grew up in a military family and has traveled all over the world. Mike is (okay, was) an avid surfer and served in the Navy.
General Manager, Bridgeport Coffee Roosevelt
Tony is a charismatic coffee enthusiast who originally hails from Ponce, a city on the southern coast of Puerto Rico famed for its architecture, art, restaurant and bar scene. Tony moved to Chicago in 2014 where he discovered his passion for coffee. He’s a master at latte art and sharing his knowledge by training new Bridgeport Coffee baristas. When he’s not pulling shots of espresso for you, you can find him at the gym, running, or enjoying video games and anime.
General Manager, Bridgeport Coffee Morgan Street
Originally from New Hampshire, Zach is now a self-proclaimed Chicagoan who currently resides in Bridgeport. Before entering the coffee industry, he was a personal trainer. Zach enjoys reading, exercising and the Chicago Bulls.
